How the Trommel Excels: The Working Principle<\/h3>\n

The genius of the Trommel lies in its elegant simplicity and steady, continuous operation. At its core is a large, inclined cylindrical mesh screen tunnel. This drum rotates at a controlled, slow pace, typically between 6 and 10 RPM.<\/p>\n

As baled PET bottles are fed into the higher end of the trommel, the journey begins. The interior of our trommels is fitted with specially designed baffles, or flaps. As the drum rotates, these baffles gently lift and tumble the bottles. This constant agitation serves a dual purpose: it effectively breaks up clumps of material and guides the feedstock steadily forward down the slight incline.<\/p>\n

While the whole PET bottles continue their journey through the cylinder, smaller, unwanted materials fall through the precisely sized perforations in the mesh screen. These contaminants, such as loose bottle caps, broken glass, stones, soil, and other debris, are collected in a hopper or on a conveyor belt below, effectively removing them from the main recycling stream. The larger PET bottles, which are too big to pass through the screen, are discharged at the lower end, ready for the next stage of the recycling process, such as shredding or granulation.<\/p>\n
